Alice searches for Arcadia, a promised safe haven, and finds survivors trapped in a Los Angeles prison. The first film in the series shot in 3D. Paul W. S. Anderson directed it in 2010.
Anderson was shown footage of James Cameron’s Avatar and decided to shoot Afterlife in digital 3D with Cameron’s Fusion Camera System. Shooting in 3D added 20% to the budget.

On 23 November 2010 Afterlife became the most successful production in Canadian feature film history. It is also the highest-grossing film released by Screen Gems.
